the matcha powder

Finely ground Japanese green tea powder (70 g). Creamy, intense, and full of vibrant, green energy. Well suited as Culinary Grade for matcha lattes, baking, and other matcha-based sweets. High-quality teas are carefully cultivated and expertly refined, for the perfect green matcha.

Preparation

Place 1 teaspoon (2 chashaku, bamboo scoops) of matcha powder into a matcha bowl (chawan).

Pour 100 ml (1 hishaku, bamboo ladle) of water at 80–90 °C (176–194 °F) over the powder.

Whisk vigorously with a bamboo whisk (chasen) until frothy.
